The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) organized an awareness seminar on the Young Professional Islamic Banking Program (Y-IBP) at the Multipurpose Hall, Faculty of Education. The program aimed to promote awareness among students of Islamic finance and its vital role in Pakistan’s banking sector.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen, Vice Chancellor LUAWMS, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The seminar opened with remarks from Dr. Ameer Wali, Dean, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, highlighting the importance of equipping youth with contemporary knowledge of Islamic banking. Mufti Sheikh Noman, Islamic Finance expert from Bank Islami, delivered an insightful presentation covering fundamentals of Islamic banking, Shariah compliance, and professional opportunities in this emerging sector.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen commended ORIC’s efforts and encouraged students to participate in professional programs anchored in ethical and economic values. The seminar was well-attended by faculty, students, and financial institution representatives, with participants showing strong interest in Y-IBP and Islamic finance sector careers.
