INTRODUCTION

The Department of Veterinary Microbiology is a part of Faculty of Veterinary & Animal sciences, it was recently established through Notification No. 0135/Notif/REG-ACAD/LUAWMS/1190-200/ dated November 13, 2020,with the approval of syndicate, LUAWMS. Dr. ShahidFaraz (Professor) was notified as first Chairman of the Department. The Department of Veterinary Microbiology has well established laboratoriesto taught courses.

DOCTOR OF VETERINARY MEDICINE (DVM)

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. Study the prevalent infectious diseases and their causal agents among the livestock species.
  2. Produce skilled professionals and researcher in the field of Microbiology and it’s branches as virology, bacteriology and applied immunology
  3. Serve the society by promoting science and value addition
  4. Facilitate the regional and inter-provincial farmer in diagnosis facilities related to infectious diseases among the livestock species
  5. Enhance opportunities to conduct seminars about deadly diseases in animals and their zoonotic aspects to create awareness at community level
  6. vi. To attract the best quality faculty members and upgrade the quality of departments graduate students
