INTRODUCTION

Department of Parasitology was established in 2020. The department is involved in veterinary education with the wide range of research and teaching interests. The department works to educate the general public about the dangers and losses caused by parasites, create and share scientific information about parasitology. The Research interests focus on the study of the interaction between the pathogen and host at the level of the host's immune response, the nature of the protective immune response and how the pathogen modulates the host response to ensure its success, the detection, treatment and prevalence of parasites of veterinary importance including zoonotic concern. Our objective is to identify and put into effect innovative approaches for the management of parasite illnesses that affect the health of millions animals worldwide. We use cutting-edge research in immunology, epidemiology and entomology.

VISSION

To establish the Department of Veterinary Parasitology as the Center of Excellence for Research, Innovation, Publication, and Teaching in Parasitology, and to promote it to its right position in veterinary medicine and scientific research on a regional and national level.

MISSION

Contribute to the education and training of faculty students to enable them to carry out their duties as veterinarians effectively by professional ethics and conduct innovative, inventive, and creative research in the fields of parasitology and provide trustworthy diagnostic services.
