The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), successfully organized a One-Day Orientation Program for Newly Appointed Faculty Members on October 27, 2025 at the University Senate Hall. The orientation theme was “Academic Responsibilities, HR Policies, and Examination Procedures for Quality Education.”
The program aimed to familiarize new faculty with the university’s academic framework, policies, and quality assurance mechanisms, ensuring their effective participation in promoting academic excellence and institutional development as guided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Khosa, Director QEC, emphasizing quality assurance and faculty’s role in maintaining LUAWMS’ standards. Technical sessions included:
- Mr. Najam Ud Din Sheikh, Deputy Registrar (HR), on HR policies and procedures
- Mr. Faqir Mohammad, Deputy Registrar (Academics), on academic responsibilities and faculty conduct
- Dr. Abdul Khaliq Angaria, Controller of Examinations, on examination rules and quality control
The event concluded with closing remarks by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen, appreciating the QEC team’s efforts and encouraging new faculty to uphold the university’s commitment to excellence in education and research.
The program was well-attended and positively received, with participants finding the sessions informative and helpful for understanding policies and expectations. Souvenirs and certificates were awarded to participants and speakers.
