Overseas Scholarships for PhD in selected specialized fields under HEC approved Project “Establishment of undergraduate Marine Sciences Laboratories and Facilities at LUAWMS, Uthal.
Applications are invited for overseas scholarships for Ph. D from the eligible fresh applicants and existing faculty members through competitive procedure both male and female in the following disciplines for Germany, Italy, Austria, France, China, South Korea and any other international institution recognized by HEC where tuition fees are minimal.

1. Water Resource Management
2. Marine Sciences
3. Agriculture Sciences
4. Environmental Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

1. Pakistani / AJK Nationals
2. Candidates must have minimum sixteen years of education in relevant discipline. Eighteen years education will be preferred.
3. First Division or CGPA 2.0/4 and 2.5/5 out of 4 in master’s degree in relevant fields.
4. Not more than two 2nd Divisions in the entire academic career other than Balochistan.
5. No Third Division or D–Grade in the entire academic career.
6. First division in the last degree of Academic career as per requirements.
7. Maximum age on closing date:

1. 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector universities / colleges and employees of the public sector R&D organization.
2. 35 years for all other candidates.

General  

1. The applicants who are presently employed should send their applications through proper channel. However advance copies of applications duly supported by copies of academic documents including transcripts will be accepted provisionally.
2. A Bank Draft / Postal Order for Rs. 500/- as processing fee in favour of Registrar Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences Uthal  be furnished with the application form which can be download from LUAWMS website http://www.luawms.edu.pk/download.php
3. Eligible candidates have to clear GRE general type test with minimum 50% as per HEC criteria.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a selection committee.
5. Selected candidates will have to execute the agreement to serve LUAWMS minimum five years and to submit surety Bond before joining the program as per university rules.
6. Scholarship awardees under other schemes of the HEC/LUAWMS need not to apply.
7. Fresh applicants selected for awards will have to serve LUAWMS for a minimum period of five years after completion of their studies scholarship will cover Tuition Fee as per actual requirement of host University, and monthly Stipend as per approved by HEC rates.
8. The candidates having confirmed admission in Ph. D will be preferred.
9. Applicants belonging to Balochistan Province are encouraged.
10. Incomplete and belated applications will not be considered.
11. Last date for submission of Applications is 13th February, 2012.
12. Service less than three years in LUAWMS will not be paid salary.
